The Third Jack Fitzgibbon Cup Registration​

The Commando Welfare Trust is taking expressions of interest from those wanting to participate in the Third Jack Fitzgibbon Cup. You are also welcome to attend as a supporter.

The sports day will be held on Sunday 22 November 2026 from 12:30pm at Portsea Oval, Duntroon, Canberra, and various locations around the city.

The event is an opportunity to play rugby union, soccer, netball, touch football, tennis, golf and cricket against politicians, including cabinet members. Participants play in the Federal Parliament Sports teams.

The main event will be the Australian Parliament Rugby XV against the Commando Welfare Trust XV. Over 35 rules will be used for the game.

Last year’s event brought together politicians, current SOCOMD members, veterans, the Australian Parliament Sports Club, the Classic Wallabies, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and other prominent politicians.

The day closes with the trophy presentation and festival dinner.

The day honours the late Lance Corporal Jack Fitzgibbon. All funds raised go to the Commando Welfare Trust.
